What We Do

We help you reduce your pain…

At Portland City Massage we maintain your body so you can maintain your life. No two sessions will be the same…sometimes the work is deep, sometimes light. Sometimes it’s vigorous and sometimes it’s gentle. Sometimes work is all on the table and sometimes it is done sitting up on a bench. Bodies need different techniques at different times so the one thing you can count on is a session that is specific to you!

Whether you are preparing for a big race, recovering from a recent injury or surgery, or working hard to stay in peak performance shape, Portland City Massage is here to help you continue to move forward toward your goals.

RECOVERY

The techniques used at Portland City Massage are geared toward relieving pain whether it’s been with you a day, 20 years of some time in between. The goal is to create balance within one’s body. When the body is balanced, pain decreases, the body has room to heal and you can get back to life.

MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE (MLD)

MLD reduces traumatic and post-surgical edema and can provide symptomatic relief of migraine headaches, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, Lyme disease, stress, fatigue, and more. MLD is also deeply relaxing and can provide pain relief.

ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE

Consistent massage work can help with structural alignment, balance, flexibility and movement patterns. This means less pain, quicker recovery time and the ability to perform at your best.

SCARWORK

Scars can be a result from surgery, accidents/trauma, or other medical conditions. Sometimes they cause a feeling of tightness or restrict your movement. ScarWork uses a gentle touch to help reorganize the tissue and reduce those restrictions so your body can move more freely with less pain.

JAW PAIN

Do you suffer from jaw pain, clicking, popping or limited opening? Soft tissue massage techniques may provide relief! Appointments focusing on TMJD (temporomandibular joint disorder) typically last for 30-60 minutes and work on muscles of the jaw, head and neck. This specialized work decreases jaw pain, headaches associated with TMJD, and helps with smoother opening and closing of the jaw.
